Palestinian-American Adolescent Freed Following 270 Days in Israel's Detention

A Palestinian-American youth after completing a nine-month period in Israel's custody without being charged gained freedom.
Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 when he was arrested this past winter within the occupied West Bank, where he was visiting from his Florida home under suspicion of rock throwing against settlement residents, which he previously denied.
United States authorities expressed satisfaction with Mohammed's liberation.
Now sixteen years old, was taken to hospital upon gaining freedom, according to close relatives.
They said he is pale, underweight, and experiencing medical problems contracted in captivity.
Via family representatives, the youth's uncle conveyed their "tremendous relief".
Family member Zeyad Kadur described how relatives endured "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" throughout the past nine months.
"At this moment, we're concentrating on ensuring Mohammed receives the immediate medical attention he requires after experiencing mistreatment by authorities and cruel circumstances over several months."
US officials stated they would maintain to provide consular support for the Ibrahim family.

Twenty-seven US lawmakers had signed a letter to diplomatic officials and the White House, urging greater action to secure his release.
The father, with four children operating an ice cream shop from Florida, had earlier stated his son only confessed about rock throwing because the soldiers beat him.
The father hadn't visited or spoken to Mohammed following the detention, and only heard about his son's condition through judicial records.
He stayed lacking indictment at Ofer detention facility in the West Bank.
It is also home to mature inmates, some of whom have been convicted for major terrorist activities including killings.
There are around several hundred young Palestinian detainees being held in Israeli jails, based on prison authority data.
Many have never been charged and human rights groups, including UN bodies, document cases involving abuse and torture.
After the teenager's freedom, family representatives announced relatives would persist in advocating demanding accountability for their family member their cousin Sayfollah.
The 20-year-old dual US citizen who the Palestinian health ministry said was beaten to death by settlement residents amid clashes during summer.
Initially, the Israeli military said officials were investigating reports a Palestinian civilian was deceased.
Both young men collaborated at their family's ice cream business from Tampa.
No one has been charged regarding Sayfollah's death.
