British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.
Honoring the Deceased
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
The news of his discharge comes as the global fight fans shared its support for the fighter in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
