Three police officers lost their lives and at least 15 additional individuals got wounded in an apparently deliberate gas explosion at a farmhouse in northern Italy.

Sequence of Events

The detonation occurred as officers and emergency crews went into the property in the vicinity of the Verona region to execute an removal notice for three siblings in their late 50s and mid-60s.

The three officers killed were members of the Italian military police.

Investigation Developments

One male and one female were taken into custody at the site and one more individual who fled subsequent to the incident was apprehended shortly later. Each of them have been admitted to medical facility.
